From the very beginning of our game development journey, you guys, the community has been so supportive of our work. 💕 And back in the days when we saw our first fan-made cosplay we couldn’t believe our eyes. 👀 Did someone put in so much effort into making something from our game? 😱 And over the years we have seen and received a lot of pictures of talented cosplayers that are representing the characters we created. 🎀 We are so grateful to have such a talented and awesome community! 💕 That’s why we decided to reach out and ask one of you to take the spotlight for a moment and give us some insights into the cosplay universe. 🎀🎩
What is your name / Alias on social media? Where are you from? And what do you do for a living?
Hi, my name is Alina! I am a cosplayer from Belarus, and my nickname is Gurami. I’ve been doing cosplay for over 10 years already. I am a textile artist by profession.
Are there any specific reasons why you decided to make a cosplay from our game Fran bow?
I’ve been thinking about this game cosplay for a long time, but I didn’t have any deadlines or a special date in my mind. One day my friends invited me to join their fan-made stand of the Fran Bow game. We’ve been creating it for a geek festival taking place in Minsk. There was not much time to think as the deadlines were tight, and I just agreed.
Why did you choose the queen, not any other character from the game?
At that time I thought that the Queen would suit me perfectly: she looks sinister and she has a very interesting costume.
Have you done everything yourself from scratch?
Yes, I made the whole costume myself. Even the Queen’s throne.
What materials did you use to make the costume?
Several different types of fabric, lots of lace, also plastic and worbla.
What was the hardest part to make of the costume? And what was the easiest part?
To tell the truth, nothing was really hard. But I was very tired of sewing all the lace to the dress: I did it by hand so that the stitches were not visible.
What part of the costume did you start with?
The first thing I started out with was the top of the dress, and the last was the skull.
Did you counter any problems along the way?
No, there were no problems at all, but the costume came out very hot to wear!
How long did it take to make the costume?
Two months, approximately.
Do you have any kinds of studies in making cosplays or are you self-taught?
I learned everything myself: watched a lot of YouTube videos and read forums.
If you have anything else that you would like to share about the progress?
I really enjoyed making the Queen costume! Unfortunately, not all the small details are visible in the photos, but I like the final result very much. 🙂
